Fix Printer Ejecting Blank Pages
Paper feeds through normally, but emerges completely white. Check the most common causes and fixes below.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooter
Walk through this flow one action at a time with instant checks.
Print CMYK Test Sheet
Verify if any specific color nozzle or laser beam is firing.
Protective Seals & Seating
New ink cartridges come with yellow tape over the air vent. If left on, an internal vacuum prevents ink from releasing onto the page.
• Remove yellow "PULL" strip completely
• Check air hole for leftover glue residue
• Push down until cartridge clicks into place
Printhead & Nozzle Cleaning
If the printer was idle for a few weeks, dried ink can block nozzle apertures. An automated cleaning cycle will purge fresh ink through the system.
• Open Printer Menu -> Tools or Maintenance
• Run "Deep Clean" or "Clean Printhead"
• Wait 3-5 minutes before testing again
Laser Toner Seal & Drum
On laser printers, confirm that the plastic pull-tab seal was extracted from the toner cartridge prior to installing it into the drum unit.
• Pull horizontal plastic sealing strip until free
• Rock toner gently side to side 5 times
• Confirm drum shutter opens when door closes
Quick Checklist
Protective Yellow Pull-Tape Removed
Confirm the yellow tape over the air vent hole is completely removed on all inkjet tanks.
Orange Plastic Protective Clips Removed
Ensure plastic transport locks on laser toner or ink carts are snapped off.
Firm Mechanical Latch Seating
Press each cartridge down until you hear an audible click into the carrier manifold.
Printhead Automated Purge Cycle
Run built-in deep nozzle cleaning from the printer control panel to flush dried ink.
Nozzle Check Diagnostic Grid
Print the nozzle check test pattern to inspect individual color bars.
Laser Toner Hopper Distribution
Remove toner and gently rock horizontally 5 times to distribute settled powder.
Driver Color Profile & Grayscale Verification
Check that printing preferences do not have corrupted driver profiles enabled.
